PodHull

Install

Up and running
in three steps.

One package and one command take a fresh server to a working panel with its own certificate.

Pre-release Version 1.0.0 is in preparation. These steps describe the release; packages appear on the release page once it is published.
Release page →

Before you start

Operating systemRHEL, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux or Oracle Linux 10.2 or later
SecuritySELinux enforcing, firewalld running
LoggingPersistent journald (/var/log/journal)
NetworkA DNS name for the panel, ports 80 and 443 reachable

The installer checks all of these first and changes nothing if the host is not ready. Run podhull doctor at any time to see the same checks.

  1. 1

    Install the package

Download the RPM for your architecture from the release page and install it with dnf.

    sudo dnf install ./podhull-<version>-1.<dist>.<arch>.rpm
  2. 2

    Run the installer

Give it the panel's domain and an address for the certificate authority. It creates the users, opens the firewall, starts the services and obtains the certificate.

    sudo podhull install --domain panel.example.com --acme-email admin@example.com
  3. 3

    Register your key

The installer prints a one-time token. Open https://panel.example.com/setup, enter it, and your browser creates your sign-in key. Keep the downloaded key file safe; it is how you sign in.

Verify a release

Each release carries SHA256SUMS and SHA256SUMS.sig. With the public key from podhull-dist:

tools/release.sh verify keys/podhull-release.pub ./downloads

Check the host

See every preflight check, the services and the certificate at a glance.

sudo podhull doctor

Remove everything

Purges every application with its data, closes what PodHull opened in the firewall and removes its users and state.

sudo podhull uninstall && sudo dnf remove podhull

Locked out?

If a wrong domain hides the panel

Delete /var/lib/podhull/panel/settings.json and restart podhull-panel.service. The panel goes back to the settings in /etc/podhull/panel.json.
